Dear Gary,

Welcome to our first edition of the Blueprint LEADERSHIP briefing (2013).

If you have not seen it, we sent a Blueprint LEADERSHIP Launch Message
last week. In that announcement, we invited you to view our NEW Blueprint Leadership Website to learn about What We Do, How We Do It, Who We Are and Who We Serve. We are very excited to interact and partner with you to develop Blueprint LEADERSHIP: Building Organizations that Change the World.

As we left off last year, we continue focusing on Critical Leadership Characteristics of Blueprint LEADERS. This month we highlight HONESTY. This month's article, "Honesty: Powerful, Compassionate Perspective" challenges leaders to think more deeply than what we normally do about the implications of honesty in the workplace. Honesty demands courage, and increased responsibility compels higher levels of genuine honesty resulting in greater organizational clarity and higher workplace performance. It isn't the easy way, but it is the better way.

We also invite you to read our supplemental article, which challenges us to proclaim purposefully what we value as an organization. Disney does that well, resulting in great success. Let's learn from their example.

As always, we welcome your comments. Thank you for joining us in building Blueprint LEADERSHIP within yourself, your team and your organization!

FEATURE ARTICLE: Honesty: Powerful, Compassionate Perspective
by Diane Kucala

This candid article takes a look at how we define honesty, and what honesty looks like in today's businesses. Today's leaders are called to a higher standard of honesty, beyond "telling the truth." Truth must be courageous, teamed with compassion and sincerity.

Honesty: Powerful, Compassionate Perspective

Core Values
Adapted from Executive Leadership

Identifying core values is the basis of effective leadership. Core values guide our actions, define our goals, and much more. Once core values are determined and shared throughout an organization, the success is limitless. This article talks about core values and gives a familiar example, with Disney's "Four Values."
